A ziggurat has the form of a terraced compound of successively receding stories or levels. It is a type of massive structure built in ancient Mesopotamia.
The design of the ziggurat was probably a precursor to that of the pyramids of Egypt, the earliest of which dates to circa 2600 BCE.[8]
Five layers of Wedi board were used, with earth tone Smalti for a modern and local interpretation
